María José is an attorney graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho. She received her law degree (cum laude) for presenting her thesis entitled: “Decisionmaking capacity as the foundation of the principle of judicial objectivity. Towards the substantive reformulation of the system for the selection and ratification of judges in Mexico.” (2025).

She began her professional career in the field of Family Law, working as an intern for a Judge for Family Matters in the Estado de México (2016-2017). She subsequently focused in Administrative and Constitutional Law, working for a District Court Judge in Administrative Matters in Mexico City (2018-2019).

Since 2019, María José collaborates in SepLaw | Sepúlveda y Díaz Noriega, S.C. in civil, commercial, constitutional, administrative, and energy litigation matters.

She currently serves as Secretary of the Civil Law Section of the Mexican Bar Association (Barra Mexicana Colegio de Abogados, A.C.)
